Saturday, Oct 17th @ Douglas Mountain
Let's enjoy some outdoor fun together with a hike up Douglas Mountain in Sebago, Maine. Students in grades 6 through 12 as well as young adults are invited to attend. We are asking for a donation of $5 to cover the cost of parking, safety whistles, and first aid items.
The hike takes 1.5 - 2 hours. There are easy and moderate trails.
Young adults - we won't be "policing" you. You are adults, after all. We do ask, however, that you follow the guidelines out of respect for everyone involved.
Masks should be worn in the parking lots, at the summit, and anywhere it is difficult to maintain social distancing.
Students must be in groups of 4 or more.
Inexperienced and/or young hikers must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
Each hiking group will be provided with a safety whistle, trail map, and first aid kit.
Participants should bring water, a small backpack, snacks (if desired,) and should be wearing sneakers or hiking boots as well as layers of clothing.
Drop off & Pick up
Drop off at the Douglas Mountain parking area, 31 Ledge Rd. Sebago, between 9am and 11am. (Please coordinate with friends to arrive at the same time. The lot holds 20 cars. We can't all arrive at once!)
Pick at Sebago Church of the Nazarene, 179 Sebago Rd. Sebago. (You'll pass it on your way in.) Students will be shuttled there after their hike so that we don't clog up the parking lot at the mountain and to allow for students have time to hang out and socialize. Masks must be worn while being shuttled to the church (about a 10 minute ride.)
Register for the event using this link (insurance info needed) or register at the event itself. (Pre-registration preferred.) Either way, we look forward to seeing you on October 17th!
